Going to the City
Or not
I'll admit I chose a shorter entry for tonight.
I received a call last Friday that finally gave me the time to have my daughter's teeth fixed. If you haven't read every word yet, here's the summary. When her top front teeth came in, they came in with cavities already. The was over two years ago.
So, dentist one: After looking at her teeth, the best you can for a ten month old, the dentist said they had to be pulled. And, the dentist office said we had to pay a couple thousand dollars in a few days or her health would deteriorate quickly. Not too much different that the scammer e-mails you receive from time to time.
On to dentist two: This dentist agreed that the teeth need to be pulled, but since she was in no pain, she could wait until she was older to make it more tolerable for her. Two years old was the target. And, again, pay everything up front, hire my own anesthesiologist and pay them up front. How much? They never did say exactly, only that I had to give about three thousand dollars out before they could schedule anything.
And the third dentist: This one said they could cap the bad teeth to prevent further cavity growth. But, stated there was not a big rush since she had no pain. The cost? Less than a thousand dollars.
So, after more than two years, the hospital finally called to give us a time to take her in for her dental work. Yes, very young children go to a hospital for dental work, helps with the anesthesia part. The nurse tried in her best cheery voice saying I got the time slot everyone tries to get. After hearing the time, I told her most people are crazy. Six in the morning. This isn't the time I would choose.
But, for tonight's entry, I talk about the city in my dreams. The most common city. The city I would like to find, as I think it would be pretty nice to see. For a city anyway.
