You can't escape 'em...
...so you may as well try to make them better. Although I think there are some countries that could cut their ties with money, those in power enjoy the lavish lifestyle that same money affords them, so they're unlikely to get rid of it. But, you could easily fix the tax problem. The one where the people in the middle pay for everything.
