Protect your rocks

Really

They still insist all blogs have a picture as a default. I'm not sure why, it's really easy to insert a picture frame in this tool.

But, just a quick blurb to introduce today's update. Then I'll go and update the header.

I should mention that I did my first set of tumbled/polished rocks. They turned out okay, but I learned a few lessons for the next set. One of those is not having rocks being tumbled while an arctic front is moving through. If you don't know, you can't really rinse the rocks in your sink as the residue will form a rock in your pipes. Literally. So, outside is what I did with a hose bib. But, I may switch to a bucket of water next time.

The other lessons? A better job of cleaning the rocks between each grit, and using filler designated for each grit instead of the same ceramic filler for all 4 steps. So, the next batch will be better. Maybe. This set wasn't bad and my Earth-daughter is more than happy having new, smooth rocks. They aren't as shiny as I'd like, but not bad for the first set.

Just a quick mission update as part of my castle being built. And a short adventure that led to a bit of a surprise. aquillun.space/castle#about-that-horse
