What's in your hole?

I was intending to write another mission, but this recurring dream is getting a bit too repetitive. (aquillun.space/dreams#holes)

But, back to the dream for today. I've been having this dream for the last month or so. Not every night, but often enough to wish for something new. A wish that is certainly one that can go a direction I don't intend. Just like the journey in this dream. It starts out normal enough, then it just transforms. Words won't do it any justice. Though I'm sure I could go into scifi-author-mode and create a novella. But, there would need to be a lot of filler that isn't in the dream, and that's not my intent with the stories on this site. For now.

One of the disturbing stories I keep seeing is the belief that if you are for something, you have to be against something else. To press a recent topic, if you are for palestinians having a homeland, you must be against jews having a homeland. If you are against aborting a pregnancy as a birth control measure, you must be against all abortions.

That really isn't how decisions are made, or should be made. Let's dive a little deeper on those two hot topics. I will note that some of these situations do relate to my homeworld as well, but certainly not the latter. Life was hard on my world and any chance to add life was absolutely cherished. To the point where if you didn't want to create children, you were either shunned or assigned to be in the military, where you'd likely die soon. Read between the lines of my military career. For me, it was about gaining freedom. For most, that freedom came with death.

For the fighting religious factions, that was quite common in my world. Many times there was a wizard involved, but mostly it was something much worse. Politicians. Just like you see on Earth.

The religious factions I'm accustom to are generally peaceful. And I'm talking about many more religions than I've seen on Earth. I don't see anyone here worshipping each of the components that make up the planet. Each of those had a god in my world. We generally all respected each other, and any wars between us were rare and short. And usually ended with the elimination of a wizard or politician.

But one thing we never saw was support of one god leading to desire to remove support for another. And the current Earth problem isn't even arguing about different gods. Earth religions aren't that diverse anymore.

Which is where the problem may ultimately lay. If the gods aren't making themselves known, chaos ensues. When chaos gets far enough along, the planet's dragon awakens. And, you'll have to wait and see how that turns out, but you have plenty of clues. The biggest is that I'm here and not there.

Chaos. I've seen it before, at least once. Maybe that's why I'm here. Maybe I won't fail this time. Or, I'm just here taking notes for next time.

Either way, support your fellow human. But not if they've mutated into a politician. They're beyond help at that point. I have helped wizards to become useful to society, but politicians? Too far gone.
