Which do you prefer
If you actually had a choice

Sometimes, you may actually get a choice about fame versus fortune. But it's more likely you'll have neither. In the larger scheme. I wrote something about that somewhere in the discussions.
But, let's put that circle of influence a little smaller and you can become famous. Is that something you'd like or would you just like the money and anonymity. If you had a choice.
I didn't have a choice, but fame came first. Then money. Then no money. Then no world. One of those was chosen.
But, enough about a page you can just go read, and more about some things that caught my attention since we last spoke.
One of the more recent things I watched was a football game between bitter rivals. Or, so the media presented. One team would agree, the other would not. But, one thing that stood out for all the media showboating was the sportsmanship between players. Sure, there were a few shoving matches, but that's just emotions. More important were teams helping whoever if a jersey was pulled under pads or just if someone just needed a hand getting off the ground. The players mostly kept the bitter part out of the game. But, the refs were a different story.
Another thing I noticed as I was maintaining my yard. Or, less noticed and more thought about as I was pulling weeds out of my gardens. Why isn't there grass that requires the same maintenance as weeds. As in, the weeds will grow nicely even with no water and liberal amounts of herbicide applied, or what counts as herbicide. With the gene splicing that humans have developed, this seems an easy action that should be taken.
Of course, I know there are so many that believe these grass oases shouldn't be maintained as there care creates pollution. But, if you hybridize them with weeds, that maintenance goes near zero.
But, I'm sticking with my fifteen year old mower that feeds on liquid fuel. The electric versions don't have the stamina or power for my yard. Sure, I could buy more batteries, but that gets expensive. And, it is also certain that same electric mower wouldn't last fifteen years without a huge number of batteries, even if the motor itself lasts.
My mower did make a small puff of oil smoke recently. I'm not sure if it's finally wearing out, or it gave itself a little too much gasoline and washed the cylinder wall. Either way, it still starts on a single pull and requires nothing besides basic maintenance. I may just check it a little closer when I pull it out of storage next year. I'll just have to travel to a different state for that liquid-fueled marathon mower. Easy enough.
But, that does remind me that my liquid-fueled snow blower could use a better carb. Maybe I'll look into that before it snows. But, hopefully after I finally put a ramp going into my shed. Nine years and counting, if I count the time from my old house.
I've got time.
